Yosemite National Park Elopement

Alec and Sydney’s Yosemite National Park elopement was a day full of adventure, love, and epic moments. From witnessing an incredible sunrise at Glacier Point to ending the day on the epic cliffs of Taft Point, we got spoiled with some of the best light.

Yosemite National Park Elopement at Glacier Point

Our day began at Glacier Point that overlooks the iconic Half Dome. It was the perfect spot for Alec and Sydney to have their first moments together on their special day. From the early dawn light to the moment the sun broke the horizon, I’ve never seen such unique lightning as I did here.

Daytime Adventure

After spending two hours capturing an unforgettable sunrise at Glacier Point, we began our journey into Yosemite Valley. We stopped at Tunnel View to eat our breakfast and take in one of the most iconic views in America. After breakfast we explore Yosemite Falls for some photos and then made our way to El Capitan.

There’s some beautiful open fields that lie at the base of El Capitan and make the perfect place to run around and be wild and free in. We had fun dancing in the meadows and enjoying the sunshine. It was pretty incredible watching the people climb the face of El Capitan and seeing how small they were compared to the giant rock wall.

Let’s Exchange those Vows

After exploring Yosemite Valley, we found a spot for lunch to fuel up for the rest of the day. We then drove to the Taft Point parking lot to explore the surrounding woods for the perfect quiet spot to exchange their vows. They both wrote the sweetest words about how they met at Church and how deeply they love one another. It was the sweetest moment to witness and full of emotion.

Hiking to Taft Point to End Our Yosemite National Park Elopement

We ended the day by hiking out to Taft Point. The hike takes you through some beautiful redwoods. We stopped briefly to capture some photos along the trail as the sunlight was bursting through the trees.

We then continued to our final destination. At Taft Point Alec and Sydney stood on an epic cliff that overlooks the entire valley. The sun set directly behind them and painted the most incredible picture. We stayed all the way through sunset to finish our full day elopement before heading back to the Airbnb.
