Minnesota Elopement at Palisade Head and Black Beach
Brad and Sara’s relationship completely revolves around adventure. They both spend most of their times outdoors hiking, scavenging for mushrooms, walking their dogs, and hiking in some of the world’s most beautiful locations. Brad proposed to Sara when they were out hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. So it only seemed fitting for them to begin their life together sharing in a day full of adventure and love with their Minnesota elopement exploring Palisade Head and Black Beach.
Minneosta Elopement Locations
Palisade Head
We decided on two locations that are extremely famous along Minnesota’s North Shore. We started at Palisade Head for sunrise. These cliffs stand 300 feet overlooking Lake Superior and are the perfect spot to watch the sun rise over the lake. As the sun breaks the horizon, the early morning sun lights the cliffs up in a burning red and orange color that never gets old to see. The other bonus is there’s usually no one around for sunrise so you get the entire place to yourselves. We were blessed with the most incredible sunrise on this morning and it was amazing witnessing the excitement on Brad and Sara’s face as they took in the moment together.
Black Beach
Brad and Sara wanted to explore the iconic Black Beach along Lake Superior the next morning for sunrise to finish their adventure elopement. This unique beach resembles a place that looks like it belongs in Iceland. It’s no wonder why couples from Minnesota and all around the world dream of getting their photos captured here.
We started by exploring the cliffs that wrap around the beach. They give a great overview perspective of the beautiful beach. From there we went down to the beach walking, running, and playing on the beachfront. It was the perfect morning and once again we got blessed with the most stunning sunrise.
