Travis+Casey Grizzly Ranch Cody, WY Ranch Wedding

I’ll forever remember when I first met Casey over our initial meeting to hear about her vision for their wedding. She described how they wanted to get married in the mountains and include their horses and dogs into their wedding ceremony. I knew instantly they were the perfect couple for me to bring their dream to life. I own horses and dogs myself and grew up on a farm with cattle in Minnesota. I love the cowboy lifestyle and still team rope to this day. So when I see a cowboy wedding inquiry in my inbox I get very excited.

Over the next few months we had meetings to discuss in further detail all the ideas they had for their ceremony. They each wanted to ride their own horse into the ceremony. Once Casey came to the isle she handed her horse off to a friend. From their her dad walked her down the aisle in traditional fashion. Travis’s dad brought the whole bridal party up to the ceremony site using his draft horse and wagon. It was an incredible sight to behold. Their dogs came down the aisle with the flower girls and their heeler had a custom leather collar made for him. During their ceremony they branded a cowhide for their unity symbol. (When branding a cowhide leave it on the ground and slide a piece of plywood or a board underneath where you’re going to brand it.) At the end of the ceremony Travis and Casey shared their first kiss together. They danced down the aisle while the guests tossed bird seed in the air. Travis’s father then drove them off in his horse and wagon.

For their sunset photos, we kept the horses saddled because it was only an hour until we had to return to the ceremony location for the photos. Two friends were kind enough to keep watch of the horses while we attended the reception briefly. We then drove back to the sunset location and captured a combination of photos with and without the horses. I felt like was on a movie scene while capturing them. Travis and Casey’s wedding day was nothing short of a western fairytale.
